When WWII ended, the allies who won the war decides to split Korean in two at the 38th parallel. It was clear that each pole believed in different beliefs on economic/government systems. The U.S. was always there to aid South Korea, until the American soldiers began leaving South Korea, unprotected. The Korean War began in the 25th of June of 1953. With the help of the neighboring countries to North Korea, China and Russia, North Korea was happy to turn communist. As the U.S. always thought, the Soviets helped North Korea become a communist country by supporting them with weapons and supplies. While Uncle Ben wasn't watching, the North Korea invaded the South, in means to try to reunite the country in a communistic way. The North began their way pushing down on the South. The South but then began pushing back when the Americans joined in this battle. And once again, the U.S. joined because they feared the domino effect on communism. The war then ended on the 27th of July in 1953. Southeast Asia decided to create a treaty to help protect their lands called SEATO or the Southeast Asian Territory Organization- the U.S. also signed in.
